JACKY TERRASSON
“A real tour-de-force for this prince of piano.”
 - Something Else
Jacky Terrasson

French-American pianist Jacky Terrasson turned the jazz world on its head after his emergence in 1993 as winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Piano Competition.

"...brightly energetic, pristinely articulated pianism ... one of the few post-bop pianists whose amiable virtuosity can recall Oscar Peterson, though his harmonic affinities fall more in line with Keith Jarrett and Herbie Hancock... sounds intent but relaxed, as if he has little to prove."
— New York Times

Ten Blue Note Records CD's and two Grammy® Award Nominations later, Jacky presents his Concord Jazz debut with Push, a dynamic masterpiece that furthers his musical story as a relentlessly-creative, boundary-pushing pianist and composer.  "Body and Soul," one of the CD's riskier tracks finds itself mixed with Michael Jackson's "Beat It," but the meat-and-potatoes are Terrasson's original compositions which showcase his unique style and revel in the interactions of his bandmates.
